At the 30th Screen Actors Guild Award Barbie last Feb. 24, 2024, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, Billie Eilish signed Melissa McCarthy's forehead as the comedienne fangirled over the Oscar-winning singer onstage.
Eilish and McCarthy are tapped to present the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series, which went to Ayo Edebiri from "The Bear."
Billie Eilish Signed Melissa McCarthy's Forehead
As Eilish and McCarthy appeared onstage, the latter reminded the former that she had met her already several times prior to their link-up at the 2024 SAG Awards. (via Billboard)
"I actually met you in utero because your mom was my first improv teacher," McCarthy revealed, referring to Eilish's mother actress and acting guru, Maggie Baird. "Guess who she was pregnant with? It was you!"
The humorous exchange took an even more bizarre turn when McCarthy asked Eilish to sign her gold gown. Eilish politely declined and McCarthy asked to sign her forehead instead.
While Eilish started scribbling on McCarthy's forehead, she attempted to strikeup another conversation by asking FINNEAS' songwriting process, but Eilish wanted a steadier thing to write onto so she covered McCarthy's face instead while she finished signing it.
"So, when you and Finneas are putting down sick tracks or hot, hot beats...," she asked before Eilish covered her mouth. "I think that's better."
Barbie at the SAG Awards
"Barbie" fell flat at the 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards as the mega film failed to take home any award that night.
Actress Margot Robbie was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role while Ryan Gosling was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role. Sadly, Robbie lost to "Killers of the Flower Moon's" Lily Gladstone and "Oppenheimer's" Robert Downey Jr.
The ensemble cast of "Barbie" was also nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. However, they lost to "Oppenheimer," which included Casey Affleck, Emily Blunt, Kenneth Branagh, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Josh Hartnett, Rami Malek, Cillian Murphy, and Florence Pugh.
"Barbie" is nominated for the upcoming 2024 Oscars. Eilish is the frontrunner for the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "What Was I Made For?" for "Barbie." Despite huge upset that Greta Gerwig is not up for Best Director, she's nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay with her husband, Noah Baumbach. Margot Robbie, who was snubbed for the race for Best Actress, is nominated as a producer for the film as it vyes for Best Picture Oscar. Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera are up for their respective Best Supporting Actors races.
