My first people were Jenifer Lewis and Jane Fonda, and they were like, 'Wait, we don't get it. This is like music. This is young.'

"And I was like, 'No. This is a council of people who I want to be very diverse. I want all different kinds of people.," she added, referring to one scene in her film that featured a council of "gods."

However, according to the report, several other stars were invited but refused her offer: Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Snoop Snoop Dogg, Lizzo, Jennifer Coolidge, Khloe Kardashian, and Vanessa Hudgens.

Jennifer Lopez Hints at Music Retirement

Prior to the release of her musical film, album, and documentary, the "On the Floor" hitmaker hinted that "This is Me... Now" "might be [her] last album ever."

"The truth is I don't even know if I'll ever make another album after this. It's such the kind of quintessential kind of Jennifer Lopez J.Lo project and I really feel very fulfilled, so they really will be collector's items at a certain point," she revealed.

Elsewhere in the interview, she explained how she poured her everything into the project: "I feel like it's the end of a kind of an era for me and the beginning of a new one, so I would never say never, but right now I feel like I really put my heart and soul into this and I'm very excited and it definitely took a lot out of me."

Jennifer Lopez Receives Flak Over New Album, Film

While the "Not Your Mama" singer was hoping to return to the limelight with a warm welcome, her "This is Me... Now" project attracted a lukewarm reception from netizens, while others outright clowned her for it.

"Who the f**k does she think she is?" One wrote about the news of Lopez inviting Swift and Grande to cameo in her musical film.

"This is so embarrassing... why did she even reveal this information? It's like she has public humiliation kink," another added.

"Yeah, because they know Jlow is using them for their fans."

Lopez's musical film is titled "This is Me Now: A Love Story," while her documentary, which follows her and the entire process of making the album and film is titled "The Greatest Love Story Never Told."
