Freddie Mercury’s London Home for Sale: Late Legend’s Property Costs THIS Much

An iconic property in London is currently up for sale in the market, costing millions of dollars. The price is fitting considering that a legendary artist once lived there, and that musician was none other than Freddie Mercury; check out the price below.

According to Loudwire, the Queen frontman's home in London, the United Kingdom, is up for sale, and the asking price is a whopping $38 million, which is a lot more than the original amount he paid back in the 80s.

The Garden Lodge property still stands up to this day in the Kensington neighborhood. His closest friend, Mary Austin, inherited the house after he passed away in 1991.

Last year, Austin decided to auction most of the furniture. In addition, she also sold some personal items that Mercury once used.

After 30 years of staying in the property, she is now putting it up for sale.

Why Mary Austin Decided to Sell Freddie Mercury's Home

Austin spoke with Bloomberg to share her thoughts about the sale, saying it was the only property in her name, but regardless, she still considers it Mercury's home.

"I had worked on the house with him and for him, and it will always be his. It was his dream, it was his vision," she said.

She also recalled the day she and Mercury first visited the home in 1980 when they were scouting for houses to purchase.

She noted that it was a summer day, and the children played in the garden. Austin added that it felt quiet and peaceful, prompting them to buy it the same day.

When Mercury purchased the property, he spent over a decade renovating it to match his standards.

Austin revealed that she decided to sell the house because she "realized that the time had come," she's ready to start a new chapter in her life because she's alone, and her children already have their own lives.

Freddie Mercury's Garden Lodge

The property is unique as it has eight bedrooms and an at-home studio that Mercury once used to record his music.

There were also bits and pieces of the property inspired by Japanese interior design, like the garden that Kyoto Gardens inspired.

Mercury also spent his time in the Japanese room, where Austin noted that they wouldn't disturb him if he stayed there.
