For those who do not know, the BRITs Awards is the counterpart music award ceremony in the United Kingdom of the Grammy Awards in the United States.
After a disappointing absence of female nominees last year, the 2024 BRITs took after the Grammy Awards. It was dominated by women, including singer-songwriter RAYE, who won six out of the nine categories she was nominated in.
RAYE Wins 6 BRITs
RAYE made BRITs history by winning the most awards in a year with six. She won Best R&B Act, Song of the Year for "Escapism," Best New Artist, Songwriter of the Year, British Artist of the Year, and British Album of the Year for "My 21st Century Blues." (via The Guardian)
After her successful night, she is now at par with Harry Styles, Phil Collins, Oasis, and David Bowie with six awards.

"Watching the @BRITs and now sobbing bc @raye is killing it and (to say it in her own words) ugly crying on tv," a fan said.
