Impressing the coaches on the latest season of "The Voice," Bryan Olesen captivated the audience with his performance of One Republic's song "Love Runs Out."
His exceptional vocal abilities and commanding stage charisma left a lasting impact on the judges.
Bryan Olesen Blind Audition
Within moments, a sense of awe overcame the panel of judges, which included John Legend, Reba McEntire, and Dan and Shay, as the extraordinary vocal performance by Bryan entranced them. Without hesitation, each judge turned their chair, acknowledging the undeniable talent displayed in front of them.
Despite Bryan's outstanding performance, his talent was acknowledged with only a three-chair turn, as Chance the Rapper opted not to turn around for him.
But in addition to Chance the Rapper facing criticism for not swiveling his chair, a portion of "The Voice" audience expressed frustration over the judges elevating "established" musicians and propelling multiple Grammy-nominated artists to the next stage on the show.
'The Voice' Contestant Bryan Olesen Is 'Already Famous'
The judges of "The Voice" season 25 faced a plethora of gifted artists during the initial blind audition phase.
However, viewers became dismayed upon observing multiple instances where seasoned performers garnered immediate attention from the panel.
Many expressed frustration over the abundance of already seasoned musicians gracing the stage and urged for more opportunities to showcase up-and-coming talent.
A viewer wrote on X, formerly Twitter, "just a little confused how this is allowed.. he is already famous.. #TheVoice."
A second "The Voice" fan also wrote, "Respectfully, I thought #TheVoice was for aspiring artists?"
Another furious social media user commented to the second user, "That's what I'm saying like what is happening?? And for these already established artist most of them are a--."
'The Voice' Rulebook
The regulations outlined in "The Voice's" official Eligibility Requirements do not explicitly exclude hopefuls who are already famous.
However, there are clear guidelines regarding improper conduct, including prior affiliations with "The Voice" or "NBC."
Suppose the show's producers establish a connection that might give rise to the perception of impropriety. In that case, they reserve the authority to disqualify the contestant from participating in the auditions.
Still, the ultimate decision lies with the show's producers but it is equally essential for the aspiring artist participating in the audition to be aware of any potential conflicts of interest they may introduce to the show.
Newsboys Singer
Before auditioning on "The Voice," Bryan Olesen was the frontman for the Christian rock group Newsboys.
Established in 1985, the band produced 17 studio albums, six of which have achieved gold certification.
Throughout their journey, they garnered four Grammy nominations.
Now, Bryan is setting his sights on pursuing a successful solo career on the NBC show.
