Taylor Swift ‘Tortured Poets Department’ Hints: Short, White Nails Mean What?

Taylor Swift's habit of incorporating "easter eggs" and hidden meanings into her daily life is the subject of an ongoing joke among Swifties. The more you can work out these clues, the more you can call yourself a true blue Swiftie.

Swifties will crack the coding of her website in an attempt to find clues, play her recordings backwards in a manner reminiscent of The Beatles' "White Album," and examine each stray hair on her eyebrow as though it were a secret.

Swift's subtle meanings are frequently really obvious, though. Or at least, they're recognizable for those who are really looking and analyzing. Or those who can be bothered to find out who she's singing about and why.

Taylor Swift's White Nails

Swift's white nails, which she wore during the most recent leg of her global Eras Tour, are a perfect example of her hiding in plain sight. This is definitely the case with her new album, "The Tortured Poets' Department," which is out on April 19.

Even Swift's most casual fans are probably aware that her extensive tour revolves on each of her studio album releases, with distinct performance elements centered around each release. She constantly does her nails in different colors to match the albums, like pink for "Lover" and red for "Red," and so on..

She was so committed to maintaining her multicolored manicure that, up until 2023, people would frequently catch her with monochromatic nails on Thursdays, just to have them repainted in the Eras style by Friday. However, there has been a noticeable change recently.

Since announcing Poets' Department on February 4 at the 2024 Grammy Awards, her nails have remained short, squared off, and a pale white color.

This is the point at which the jigsaw parts begin to fit together. Similar to her multicolored fingernails, Swift designates a specific emoji hue for every stage of her life. Which color is the official Poets' Department color? Yes, it is a glaringly white as snow. On the surface, this is meaningless.

Other Hints

What about the fact that she has been creating mashups for her acoustic "secret song" sets ever since her international tour began? Is she attempting to finish as much of her catalog as possible before April 19?

Her desire to incorporate her most recent album into the performance makes logical, and these nails may be her way of teasing it. If Swift is anything, it's that she'll fully commit to a fresh record cycle, style and all.

After winning Album of the Year and all the attention she received during the the Super Bowl, she's been keeping quiet, yet she never fails to make a statement.
