Taylor Swift Forever: Swifties Save Bride From Making Regrettable Wedding Decision

When a Florida Swiftie unwillingly chose to sell her priceless guitar signed by the 14-time Grammy winner in order to raise money for her impending wedding, fellow Taylor Swift lovers stepped in to save the day.

Taylor Swift Wants to Sell Signed Guitar

If there's something people know about Taylor Swift, is that she's a master guitarist. To have a guitar signed by her? Precious.

Emily Harris's father gave her a unique red guitar that is signed by 34-year-old Swift as a 16th birthday present.

She however, found herself having to make the decision to sell the unique instrument when she discovered she could not afford the ceremony she desired for her November 2024 wedding to fiancé Jacob McDaniel.

"It was very hard," Harris, 30, told Tampa CBS affiliate WTSP in an interview published Monday, March 4. "But I felt like it was the responsible thing to do, you know, to try and afford everything because we're paying for our wedding ourselves."

Randy Harris, her father, was aware of how much she detested giving up her idol's instrument.

He then asked for recommendations in a statement posted on Taylor Swift's Vault Facebook fan page.

"My daughter is considering selling her signed guitar to help pay for her wedding, any advice/help would be greatly appreciated," he wrote in February.

Swifties Step In

Many of the hundreds of comments left by the Swifties begged Emily not to sell her "priceless" collector's treasure.

"Whoa!" One user wrote, "Weddings and marriages come and go, but Taylor Swift is forever."

"Please start a GoFundMe page for the wedding," one suggested.

Another reader said, "I'd be happy to chip in a little so she gets to have the wedding she wants without having to sacrifice such a treasure."

Emily started a fundraiser after heeding that advice.

"I was going to sell my signed Taylor Swift guitar to help pay for my upcoming wedding. However, some very nice and hardcore Swifties are against the sale, and asked us to start this GoFundMe instead," Emily wrote, sharing several photos of the red guitar.

"We are so excited to celebrate together this November, and in order to make sure our family and friends can be together with us, there are expenses that continue creeping up," she continued. "I was hoping to find someone who would benefit from this signed guitar as much as I can use the sale to pay for our wedding. Countless fans told me to start a Go Fund Me instead, so here we are!"

As of this Wednesday, March 6, Emily has raised almost $3,800, more than twice the target of $1,813 that she had set for her page.

Fans congratulated Emily and Jacob on their impending marriage while making donations. Someone included Swift's perfume brand and song names in their remark.

"I've been speechless, really," Emily told WTSP about her reaction to the Swifties' generosity. "I feel like this is a reminder that there are good people in this world. There is just genuine good in this world."

Her fiancé is astounded by the amount of support as well.

Emily kept expressing gratitude to all of Swift's supporters who gave and formed a special relationship with her. It remains to be seen if the story can reach the star herself - Taylor Swift.
