Chart-topping singer Steve Lawrence has died. He was 88.
Lawrence, who was best known as a member of Steve & Eydie with his wife Eydie Gorme, notably hit the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in 1963 with "Go Away Little Girl." He released more hit songs in the years thereafter and captured people's hearts with his music until his death.

A press release shared by the family's spokesperson Susan DuBow confirmed that Lawrence passed away on Thursday, Mar. 7, at the age of 88. The representative disclosed he died from complications caused by Alzheimer's disease.
The crooner revealed his diagnosis in a 2019 letter through his spokesman at that time, Howard Bragman.
In the communication obtained by People, the then-83-year-old said he was in the early stages of the progressive type of dementia.
"I am being treated with medications under the supervision o some of the finest doctors in the field. Fortunately, they have managed to slow down this horrific process," he said at the time. "I'm living my life, going out in public and trying to spend as much time as possible with my family and friends while I am still able to engage and enjoy."
Lawrence asked fans for prayers and good wishes at the time.

His death shocked his friends and fans, leading them to share their heartbreak in their online tribute messages.
Seth MacFarlane wrote on X, "RIP Steve Lawrence - This guy has been a musical hero of mine for years. His effortless baritone and superb phrasing made the most difficult songs sound easy."
The Family Guy star continued, "He was a profound influence, and when I actually got to meet him one night after doing a show in Vegas, I learned that he was also as nice and humble a guy as ever there was. Thanks for leaving behind so many incredible recordings, Steve. You'll be missed."
"So sad to hear about the passing of Steve Lawrence. Here he is in one of my absolute favorite scenes from The Nanny, blessing us with that golden voice," a fan on X said.
Anoter fan wrote, "There was no team better than the great Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. What a gift to have seen them in person - with Sinatra and alone. Now with the passing of Steve Lawrence, they are reunited. They were something big. RIP. (And thats Steve Allen on bongos here)."
Lawrence and his wife started their career in the early 1950s while also focusing on their solo endeavors. He got his first massive hit in 1962 with "Go Away Little Girl" before the duo decided to change their style.
