Ariana Grande Defends New Album Amid Cheating Allegations: 'Entirely misinterpreting the intention'

Ariana Grande has been bombarded with speculation and rumors regarding her relationship with her new boyfriend, Ethan Slater, and her divorce from ex-husband Dalton Gomez.

The "Yes, And?" singer gave fans a glimpse into what happened to her during that time of her life as she took on a confessional writing style in her new album, "Eternal Sunshine."

The new release, however, was met with backlash and criticism from netizens, who doubled down by accusing Grande of cheating with her "Wicked" co-star.

The hate has gotten so bad that she had to go online and address the issue first-hand and head-on.

"I just wanted to say anyone that is sending hateful messages to the people in my life based on your interpretation of this album is not supporting me and is absolutely doing the polar opposite of what I would ever encourage (and is also entirely misinterpreting the intention behind the music)," the "7 Rings" hitmaker wrote in her Instagram Story.

"Although this album captures a lot of painful moments, it also is woven together with a through line of deep, sincere love. If you cannot hear that, please listen more closely."

This is not the first time Grande had to come forward and tell her audience to listen and understand "Eternal Sunshine" as a whole, instead of nitpicking the tracks individually.

Ariana Grande Drops New Album 'Eternal Sunshine'

Before releasing her newest album, Grande explained that she would not drop more singles after "Yes, And?" until "Eternal Sunshine" is released.

"As hard as it is to resist the urge to share another song or single with you all ASAP, I would really love for you to experience the album in full this time,' she explained.

According to Billboard, the "Positions" singer insisted that her audience "listen fully through first" because it is her "ideal way" for them to experience the new era of her music.

Ariana Grande's Fans Defends Singer, New Album

Months-old rumors about the murky timeline of her relationship with Slater resurfaced again following the release of Grande's new album.

Fans defended the singer and told others to listen to the album and just "move on."

"You guys should really listen tho[sic]. If Ariana herself doesn't have hate for certain people, then honestly, there's no point in doing that for her. she already found someone new. It's time to look forward, not backward."

"@ the Arianators that was threatening Dalton over their assumptions," another added, referring to a song that insinuates Gomez cheated on Grande during their marriage.
