Madonna Loses Respect After Insulting Wheelchair User: 'People are paying good money to see you'

Madonna was humiliated after mistakenly calling out a concertgoer. The thing is, she called out someone for sitting when the person is wheelchair-bound. Not only was that embarrassing for the part of the star, but insulting for the said fan.

Madonna Embarasses Own Fan

On her "Celebration Tour" across the US, the 65-year-old "Vogue" singer had an embarrassing situation at one of her recent concerts.

Madonna told supporters to "take this ride with me" in a viral video.

She then targeted one person in the crowd and asked, "What are you doing sitting down over there?"

Discovering that they were sat down because they were a wheelchair-user, an obviously contrite Madonna said: "Oh, okay. Politically incorrect. Sorry about that."

"I'm glad you're here," she added.

The "Like a Prayer" singer's mistake seemed innocent, but many fans online were still upset by Madonna's decision to call them out in front of an entire audience, especially since concertgoers may stay seated for health or personal reasons.

Others thought her apologies was insincere.

Concertgoers Lose Respect for Madonna

People have since criticized Madonna for her comments, insisting that it's none of her business if someone's sitting down - whether they're in a wheelchair or not.

One person wrote on Reddit: "Even if that person wasn't in a wheelchair, maybe just having bad knees or whatever, how tf is that anybody's business?"

"Girl, bye. People are paying good money to see you, don't disrespect them like that," one angrily said.

Sharing their own experiences, another person shared, "I went to a concert a couple of months after going through surgery and chemo and couldn't stand the whole time. I would've been mortified to be called out like this."

Another called Madonna 'insufferable' and the clip "painful'.

Madonna have made other missteps on her tour, including decking out last month. Madonna is on her Celebration Tour.

The pop star was dragged across the stage on a chair while singing "Open Your Heart" after the dancer tripped. Tipped out of her seat, Madonna tumbled to the floor.

She had the perfect response and laughed about the event as she continued the song. The stage videographer quickly checked on her, and she appeared unharmed.
