Diane Warren Throws a 'Tantrum' at Oscars Orchestra After Ariana Grande Snub: Source

Diane Warren is a distinguished icon in songwriting and the music industry. Despite being nominated 15 times for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, Warren has yet to bag her first Oscar statuette.

This year, Warren was nominated for "The Fire Inside," a song that she wrote, and Becky G performed at the 2024 Oscars.

Diane Warren Oscars Tantrum Revealed

Everyone knew that "The Fire Inside" was no match for Billie Eilish and FINNEAS' sensational Grammy-winning song "What Was I Made For?" as it was a lock-in for the award since it started raking honors and recognition at the start of the Awards circuit.

However, Puck News reported that Diane Warren had an epic meltdown after Ariana Grande failed to mention the Best Original Song category nominees.

Grande and Cynthia Erivo presented the nominees for Best Original Score (which went to Ludwig Gorranson for "Oppenheimer"), and supposedly, the Original Song nominees too, but for some reason, Grande didn't.

Grande hurriedly announced that her good friend, Billie Eilish, had won the award, making her the youngest Oscar double winner in history.

Puck News revealed that two eyewitnesses attested that Warren was "so pissed at not being mentioned" that she "leapt [sic] from her seat and started running around the orchestra level looking for board of governors members to complain to."

Meanwhile, "Flamin Hot" director Eva Longoria couldn't bear the embarrassment that her prized songwriter had caused, and she decided to leave the auditorium to compose herself.

Diane Warren Never Won An Oscar?

Warren has been nominated 15 times at the Academy Awards, specifically for the Best Original Song category. She has penned iconic songs like "Because You Loved Me," sung by Celine Dion for "Up Close & Personal," and "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith for "Armageddon," among many others.

In 2022, she was awarded an Honorary Oscar Award at the annual Governor's Awards for his contribution at the Oscars and in cinema. Despite this, she still seemed to thirst for her first competitive Oscar statuette in the top category for music at the Oscars.

On the other hand, Billie Eilish and FINNEAS made history by winning the same award twice in the last three years with "What Was I Made For?" from Greta Gerwig's "Barbie." They won their first Oscars in 2021 with "No Time To Die" from the film of the same name.
