Jon Bon Jovi revealed his thoughts about touring following his health setbacks.
Speaking in an interview with Mix 104.1 Boston, Bon Jovi opened up about how his health would be the determining factor in his touring career. This would also affect his stage performances as part of the promotion of his upcoming album, "Forever."
Will Jon Bon Jovi Tour Again?
Before the album's release on June 7, Bon Jovi admitted to not knowing whether he would tour again. While he revealed he would want to tour in 2025, his recuperation from major surgery could affect the timeline.
"Although I'm well on the road to recovery and was able to take my time and do a song a day when I made the record, my need, want, desire is to be able to do two-and-a-half hours a night four nights a week for months on end," he explained, as cited by Loudwire. "And so I'm working towards that goal."
Bon Jovi underwent vocal cord medialization in 2022 to regain his voice's proper function.
In 2021, he cancelled his appearance at the Loews South Beach for "An Intimate Acoustic Storyteller Performance Q&A" shortly before his show after testing positive for COVID-19.
Jon Bon Jovi Shares a Backup Plan
Elsewhere in a recent interview, Bon Jovi answered the question about whether he would do something like what U2 did at the Sphere.
"It was incredible. But I was like, 'Wow, how do I even wrap my arms around this? And how much time would it take to develop all this, to capture something that would be worthy that could follow this incredible production?'" he commented.
Bon Jovi is a U2 fan. But despite that, he believed the Sphere would not work for him the way it did for his favorite band.
He previously attended the Hulu's "Thank You, Good Night" press tour in Pasadena, where he dropped a major health update after his vocal cord surgery. At the time, he disclosed that one of his vocal cords was "atrophying," leading it to become "thick as the thumb" while the other was pinky size.
"I can write you a song, I can perform as well as anybody. But I need to get my tools back," he went on.
