Zayn Malik invited several fans to an intimate listening listening party in London, which became a surprise meet-and-greet with the "Pillow Talk" hitmaker.
"So here we are at my listening party in London and we have some fans in the room listening to the music right now and we're gonna go in there and surprise them," the former One Direction star said in a video. "They don't know I'm here. Hopefully, we don't freak them out too much."
According to Teen Vogue, Malik is promoting his upcoming project, Room Under The Stairs; his fourth album is slated for release on May 17.
He recently dropped "What Am I," which he described as "the first release of a special project I've been working on for years" on Mar. 15.
Zayn Malik Meets Fans During Listening Party
It has been a while since Malik readily returned to the spotlight after his long unofficial break from the music scene; the last time he released music was in 2021 with Nobody Is Listening.
Netizens and fans lauded the "Love Like This" singer for going out of his way to surprise fans and make the listening party special.
One even praised the singer's well-executed marketing in preparation for the highly anticipated rollout, noting that the "intimate setting" was a nice touch.
During the listening party, Malik also seemingly teased a tour in support of his upcoming album; however, as of this writing, a headlining tour is yet to be confirmed.

Zayn Malik Dropping Country Album?
According to People Magazine, Malik's album is kept tightly under wraps. Although he has been open about how he recorded it, the singer still has not revealed what genre of music it will be.
"I think the intention behind this album fully is for the listener to get more insight on me personally as a human being," Malik said in a video. "My ambitions, my fears... and for them to have a connection with that, and that's why it's so raw, you know?"
His fans think Malik will release a country album because he unexpectedly collaborated with famed country music producer Dave Cobb.
"Zayn has really created his own universe on this record. He really has no fear and is speaking straight from his soul," Cobb said of the upcoming album.
