Moments before her Pink Friday tour stop in New Orleans was due to start, Nicki Minaj made the difficult decision to cancel her appearance, leaving her fans disappointed and frustrated.
The "Barbie World" hitmaker issued a sincere apology to her fans for pulling the plug on her stop at the Smoothie King Center.
In a lengthy message posted on her Instagram Story and X, (formerly Twitter), she explained that she had fallen ill with the flu, and expressed her sincerest regrets to fans for the unexpected change in plans.
She confessed, "You mean so much to me & I hate that things didn't go as planned."
"Within the next few days, I hope to update our schedule with a new date that I can give you 100% of myself & nothing less."
The "Super Bass" singer emphasized, "You don't deserve to pay for a ticket to see me up there rapping with the flu. Absolutely NOT."
Nicki Minaj Fans Are Furious
However, unexpected turn of events sparked negative reactions among concert-goers eagerly anticipating the show, with fans saying that they could have received advance warning of the cancellation.
One person expressed their frustration, saying, "It's not like she just suddenly fell ill a few hours ago."
A second person said they believed the announcement should have been made earlier, rather than at the last minute.
Another individual voiced their discontent, saying, "The issue isn't that she canceled, but rather that we were only notified four hours before the event."
