Doja Cat does not back down from dating whoever she wants to date, even when fans and netizens call her out for being in relationships with "sketchy" personalities and rappers.
According to Harpers Bazaar, the "Paint The Town Red" hitmaker admitted that she is a serial dater and loves being in love.
"I love love. I'm possibly a serial dater. I definitely have had that in me a little bit," Doja Cat said during an interview in September 2023. "But right now I'm in a different place in my life, where I am very committed and very much in love in a different way than before. I think I've evolved. I'm learning to love myself, so the way that I love other people is very different. I don't feel like a lost little teen. I feel like a woman who is coming into her own."
Doja Cat has been romantically linked to several people since her rise to fame in 2019.
Doja Cat's Dating Life Has It's Up And Downs
The "Agora Hills" rapper has confirmed only one relationship since 2019. She dated Jawny, who was constantly featured on her livestreams on Instagram.
During one of their livestreams, Doja Cat revealed that she first found out about the singer-songwriter-slash-producer by clicking on one of his music videos, "Honeypie."
They dated from 2019 to 2020. She explained that things "just didn't work out" between them.
Doja Cat was also linked to fellow rapper French Montana shortly after her breakup with Jawny.
While Doja Cat explained that they were only collaborators, many speculated that there was something more going on between them.
"Me and French got a song coming out. F**king relax," she wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Montana and the rapper released "Handstand," and were seen hanging out in the Bahamas, alongside Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson, to celebrate Montana's lawyer, Adam Zia's birthday, Page Six reported.
Doja Cat Defends Dating J. Cyrus
According to reports, Doja Cat has been seen out and about with a TikTok personality. J. Cyrus was accused of emotionally abusing and manipulating some members of his team.
"There is no excuse nor justification for my actions. I was careless. I was greedy. I was ignorant. I was disrespectful. And I was completely in the wrong," he said in a statement following the allegations.
"In a position of power and trust, I gave into the temptations and attention of those who looked up to me. These women are special. They are strong. And they are worth so much more than me and my ignorance. And I failed to realize that when it mattered."
Aside from being on TikTok, Cyrus is also a musician; he has released a hip-hop titled Sober.
Doja Cat has blocked netizens who bring up Cyrus' "shady" history, and as of this writing, it is unclear whether they are still together.
