In rememebrance of the 30th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death, the BBC will air special programming dedicated to celebrating the iconic Nirvana frontman's life and legacy.

Fans can look forward to various content on TV and radio channels to pay tribute to his enduring legacy.

Kurt Cobain Special Coming to BBC

NME reports that in April, a special evening honoring Kurt Cobain and Nirvana will air on BBC Two and iPlayer.

The lineup will feature a brand-new documentary titled Moments That Shook Music: Kurt Cobain, which will delve into the final chapter of the rock star's life through exclusive archive clips, some of which have never appeared on television until now.

Among the recorded material are an interview with the electrician who discovered Cobain's body while setting up a security system at his residence in Seattle, accounts from the police present at the scene, and the profound shock and dismay experienced by fans upon learning the tragic news.

Captured on camera is the poignant moment when his wife Courtney Love shares a heartfelt letter Kurt wrote with fans during a vigil, alongside an interview conducted just a few months before his tragic death.

The documentary also aims to unravel the mysteries surrounding the incident with footage captured by eyewitnesses.

Jonathan Rothery, head of BBC Popular Music TV, said, "Kurt Cobain's life and death have turned into myth and legend since his passing."

Kurt Cobain's Life Troubles and Legacy After Death

In his final days, Kurt Cobain faced a battle with drug addiction and depression. After a near-fatal incident in Rome in March 1994 and an intervention that followed, Kurt Cobain tragically took his own life at his residence in Seattle on April 8. He was 27 years old.

Establishing Nirvana in 1987 alongside Krist Novoselic, Cobain cycled through various drummers until the arrival of Dave Grohl in 1990, which solidified the band's iconic lineup.

In 1991, the band achieved significant acclaim and success with their second album, Nevermind, which quickly elevated them to stardom and garnered three Grammy nominations.
