Not The First Time Aqua Disappointed Australian Fans

Starting their Australian tour at Metro City in Perth on a Thursday evening, the pop group's show sparked significant backlash.

During their first ever performance in the country, concertgoers shared their bewildering experiences, labeling the show as "awkward" and "horrendous."

In a recent chat on Pete & Kymba for Breakfast, Shelby Brady from Mix94.5 shared details of Aqua's memorable performance that went awry.

Per Page Six, Shelby described how the show started on the wrong foot and took a turn for the worse when lead vocalist Lene Nystrom exited the stage, only to return in tears wearing her pajamas.

Right from the get-go, the audience quickly noticed a glaring mistake on the screen before the band made their entrance.

"I knew they were off to a bad start when the screen behind them said 'Hello Adelaide'," Shelby said.

As she introduced the first song, "Cartoon Heroes," the performance took a turn for the worse as Lene suddenly vanished from the stage, attributing her exit to a technical glitch.

"You could see that the main woman (Lene Nystrom) was taking her headpiece out throughout the song but it didn't seem like a big issue," Shelby explained.

"She walks off and she's the lead singer so they have to continue without her."

The band then exited the stage, leaving the audience members confused and uncertain for the next hour.

"It's so awkward, nobody knows what's happening."

"People left because there was no communication at all. It was just an empty stage with nobody there."

Later on, Nsytrom, looking visibly distraught and dressed in her pajamas rather than the previous pleather outfit, returned to the stage signaling a shift in the show's tone.

According to Shelby, "She was crying ... heavy breathing for the whole time and that was for the entire hour performing."
