Azealia Banks' Unfiltered Criticism of Beyoncé's 'Cowboy Carter'

Since Beyoncé released Cowboy Carter, the BeyHive has been celebrating the release of the album, which featured Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Miley Cyrus, and even Linda Martell, among many other collaborators. However, at least one fierce critic is not impressed.

Upon hearing the entire record, Azealia Banks shared her unfiltered criticism on Instagram. At first, she thought she might be eating her words after digging into the first few minutes of the lengthy album.

"Wait....Is cowboy carter tugging in b-days wigneshaaaa?" she wrote on Instagram Stories. "Am I about to eat my words???????!!!!??"

In her next story, she declared: "Absolutely not."

According to Banks, the themes on Cowboy Carter are "redundant," "the lyrics are really forced," and the "album is too long."

At one point, she even questioned who Beyoncé was referring to on the angrier and fiercer version of Dolly Parton's "Jolene."

"Plus who is this imaginary adversary sis thinks still wants to hump on j in 2024. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY thinks he's even remotely attractive.... Lol."

"Great work from the band/producers/engineers. Cool and interesting choices on the sonics. Might be her most sonically cool attempt at being arty...." she added.

However, she noted that the production and the engineering of Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter was "more impressive" than any of her performance on any of the records.

She even praised the Miley and Beyoncé collaboration on "II Most Wanted," but she describes it as "random."

"started dozing off ... that highkey should've been Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland. FOR CULTURES SAKE. Def should have had Taylor Swift & Kacey Musgraves on there... it's what the ppl wanted...." she suggested. "personally would have jumped out of my seat for a KT Tunstall appearance... a strong dr. Luke power ballad was missing ... like 'Low'.... Skip skip ... I really don't like rapyonce.... Dozed off again and now I'm going to sleep."

Azealia Banks Cracks Down on Beyoncé's Transition to Country Music

Azealia Banks was against Beyoncé's transition to country music ever since she announced Cowboy Carter.

She has issued a scathing statement saying, "black girls can make country music," but "you're just really not hitting the button."

"Ugh Bianca girl I love you down but them r&b runs over the leslie feist back beats is giving pickmesha..." Azealia Banks wrote of Beyoncé. "Nothing country about it. You're seeing yourself up to be ridiculed again. There's a theatrical element to country music !!! Them critics are not just going to accept an ugly blond wig and , bullying from jay-z !!! It's giving big time musical grift," she told the Grammy-winning icon.
