Did Romeo Santos die after his reported hospitalization?
The King of Bachata set the record straight all at once after rumors that he was hospitalized after a heart attack dominated the internet. Some sites alleged he died afterward.
Romeo Santos Is Alive and Well
Following the buzz, Santos took to X to address the rumors and confirmed he knew who started the talks.
"You don't have the power to hurt me, much less the wisdom to do me wrong," he said in his statement on Sunday, March 31, as translated by Billboard. "If you think that they are going to return the concert tickets because of this fake news, then you are more dumb than what I thought. If you're still thinking of ways to destroy me, then you might end up having a cardiac arrest."
The rumors about the "El Pañuelo" singer's health started when Spanish-language outlets reported that he suffered a cardiac arrest while working out.
Santos and his representatives have not released a new statement regarding the false reports. However, it is safe to say that the buzz will not affect his tour with Aventura.
Romeo Santos Will Tour Soon
The health and death hoaxes surfaced before his scheduled Cerrando Circlos 2024 Tour with Aventura.
The 35-date trek, produced by CMN Events, will start in Sacramento on May 1 and end in Hidalgo, Tex., on August 3.
"I want you to join me on a journey where I will be definitively closing cycles," Santos wrote in a statement. "Because it is not the same to remember beautiful times as it is to be a prisoner of the past. We cannot [be] stagnate in the nostalgia of yesterday, but rather move forward, discover new horizons, and show other facets."
