Rod Wave Arrested in Florida
TMZ reported that Rod Wave, known as Rodarius Marcell Green, was detained and booked into the Manatee County Jail on Wednesday (April 3) for two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
"Rod was arrested and detained with absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing. The police claimed he was a felon in possession of ammunition. Not only was he not in possession of ammunition, a basic check of public records would have easily demonstrated to the police that he was not a convicted felon," Rod Wave's lawyers, Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin said in a joint statement. Cohen has since represented several figures in Hip-hop, including Drake, Vanilla Ice, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, and even Lil Wayne.
In a separate statement, Rod's lawyers promised, "As with any case, we will hold those parties that made the error accountable for their actions."
According to his lawyers, Rod Wave has since been released after a judge believed that the evidence against him did not support the charge. Rod's lawyers have cited that he had previous run-ins with the law years ago as he faced a domestic violence case in Florida. However, the case has since been dropped.
