Imagine Dragons, made up of endearing boys from Las Vegas, are back with a brand-new song called "Eyes Closed."
Allegedly, this is described as slated to usher in the group's next era.
It comes after two long years since their last record.
Imagine Dragons New Track 2024
According to Rolling Stone, in addition to incorporating elements of pop, alt, and rap-rock, "Eyes Closed" also throws in some dubstep wub-wubs for good measure.
The song's music video, which was filmed by Andrew Donoho, features frontman Dan Reynolds traveling through an ancient hallucinatory realm akin to an Indiana Jones adventure.
The scene delved into Reynolds' subconscious telling stories about nearly dying in the moments following a car incident.
Imagine Dragons' last album, Mercury - Act 2, which was coupled with Act 1 of 2021 to make a double album, was released already way back in 2022.
Reynods Says It's a Balance of "Nostalgia and Freshness"
Reynolds released a statement to describe the new track, "After taking some time off the road and spending time catching up with family and loved ones, I finally have felt the desire to go back to the sonic places that originally brought me the most joy, but with a new outlook and mentality. The world looks much different after being a band for more than a decade. But some things will always remain the same. It's finding that right balance of nostalgia and freshness that brings me the most joy in the studio. We had a lot of fun making this one and hope you enjoy it too."

Imagine Dragons Live in Vegas, a documentary, was released in 2023. The film traced the band's development from playing dive bars on the Vegas strip to headlining the city's massive football stadium, mostly using footage from their hometown show in September 2022, along with band interviews and archive material.
Even though Imagine Dragons did not release a new album for the past year, "Eyes Closed" follows ID's 2023 single "Children of the Sky," and more new music is forthcoming.
The song, which "Radioactive" band has been hinting at for the past few weeks, can be downloaded right now from digital retailers.
