Soulja Boy Claims 'He's Too Busy' to Address Ex-Girlfriend's Assault Case, Blocks $10 Million Payout

Soulja Boy has been sued by his ex-girlfriend for $10 million after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend, which then resulted in her miscarriage.

Meanwhile, the rapper asked the judge more time to respond to the lawsuit.

Soulja Boy Sued for Assault Resulting to Miscarriage

According to legal documents obtained by Radar Online, Soulja Boy's girlfriend sued him for $10 million. However, the embattled rapper asked the presiding judge to give him more time to respond because he has been "too busy" touring.

According to Soulja Boy, he was unaware that the court had already filed sanctions against him because he failed to appear at a deposition for the case.

Soulja Boy, formally known as DeAndre Cortez Way, is named in the suit filed by his ex-girlfriend, identified as Jane Doe, for an assault that took place in 2015, which resulted in her miscarriage.

"During their conversation, (Way) began to punch (Doe) in the face and chest, until she could no longer stand on her feet," the lawsuit read. "Soon thereafter, (Doe) suffered a miscarriage and was unable to carry her pregnancy into full term."

Doe filed a lawsuit against Way in 2021. She alleged that the "Crank That" rapper had beaten her multiple times in their on-again, off-again relationship that started in 2007. She then left him in 2019.

The 2021 lawsuit has accused Way of assault, sexual battery, and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, but Way has denied all wrongdoings stipulated in the lawsuit.

Doe has since requested Way to pay her $5 million for her pain and suffering and another $5 million for emotional distress.

Soulja Boy Failed to Respond to Court Over Ex-GF Case

Radar Online also revealed that the court threw out Way's response to the lawsuit because he failed to attend a deposition. Doe disclosed to the court that Way had stopped communicating with her legal camp after his own lawyer had dropped out of the case in 2023.

Meanwhile, the judge ruled that Doe could seek a "default judgment" against Way.

In a new motion filed by a new lawyer for Way, he now claims that he was "unaware" of the case's recent developments and only knew about them from the news.

He also claimed that he was "unrepresented" for a year and was touring the U.S. and abroad. Way embarked on a tour in 2023 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of his iSouljaBoyTellem album.
