It has been less than two weeks since Metro Boomin and Future released their newest album, We Don't Trust You, and the rap duo is now gearing up to release a follow-up.
The We Still Don't Trust You album announcement came after their original album officially had the biggest opening weekend of any album in 2024.
Metro Boomin, Future Drops' We Still Don't Trust You' Trailer
In a chilling trailer that Metro Boomin and Future posted on their social media pages, fans of the rappers were surprised to learn that they would be dropping a second installment of their album, We Don't Trust You.
"Job's not finished 4/12/24," the duo captioned, announcing that We Still Don't Trust You arrives on Apr. 12, 2024, a week before Taylor Swift releases her new album, The Tortured Poets Department.
Fans expressed their shock on social media, commenting on Metro Boomin and Future's second venture.
"Thought 2nd album would be called WE GON' SHOOT YOU and just straight heat front to back. 12 tracks. No skips," a fan said on Reddit.
"Just imagine if there was another Kendrick verse," one wondered of the album's features.
"I'm hoping this is better than the first. I played the shit out of it the first couple days then realized it's kinda stale and I'm a huge fan of both of them. Superheroes and Villains was better imo," another commented.
"I havent seen 2 projects released back to back like this in a long ass time... I must be finally in heaven," another shared.
Metro Boomin, Future' We Don't Trust You' Billboard 200
We Don't Trust You opened atop the Billboard 200 chart with a staggering 251,000 album units. Billboard noted that this release was the biggest this year, so far, in terms of album units earned.
Streaming bolstered the album primarily, with 245,000 units or around 324.31 million streams. Album sales are only a meager 4,500, while track units are 1,500.
The album's lead single, "Like That," is a collaboration between Metro Boomin', Future, and Kendrick Lamar. The song has been widely discussed on social media because of Lamar's direct diss toward Drake and J.Cole, launching a rap beef between them.
