Although Taylor Swift has been captured on film visiting the world's hottest restaurants and nightclubs over the years, the superstar sometimes surprises fans by showing up in unexpected locales.
Case in point: Thursday night (Apr. 4), the "Karma" hitmaker was spotted out in West Hollywood, Calif., enjoying a low-key evening out with friends at dive bar Barney's Beanery. Photos obtained by TMZ show Swift relaxing at a table and sharing food with a group, seemingly unbothered by any of the other patrons.
The outlet reported she stayed at the bar for a couple of hours, and wished a member of her party happy birthday as she left. Her bodyguard reportedly took care of the bill.
Boyfriend Travis Kelce was not present at the gathering. The couple have been spending time on the West Coast as Kelce is off season from the Kansas City Chiefs and Swift takes a break from her Eras Tour.
Barney's Beanery is a staple Los Angeles hangout, with the West Hollywood location having opened in 1920. The menu serves typical bar fare such as burgers, pizza, chili, and wings.
Swift followed up with news on Friday, dropping five new playlists on Apple Music ahead of her upcoming release The Tortured Poets Department. Each playlist is hand-selected by Taylor, with songs that represent the five stages of grief.
The playlists notably feature "Lover," a song written about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn, under the "denial" phase, during which she discusses feeling "delusion."
The Tortured Poets Department is set for release Apr. 19.
