On April 9, FOX Nashville Nightside Reporter Payton Muse shared a photo on Facebook of Chief's, a downtown Nashville bar that's entered the limelight since this weekend when controversial country music star Morgan Wallen threw a chair off of its sixth story roof.
"Notice anything about the Chief's on Broadway sign? 'Our pigs fly... our chairs don't...' Good morning Nashville," wrote Muse on Facebook.
The marquee for the bar does, in fact, now have "Our pigs fly, Our chairs don't" written in large letters on the front of the building. The cheeky writing is a direct nod to Wallen's raucous Sunday night actions. The singer reportedly laughed after chucking the furniture off of the bar's roof.
Muse's post received over 75 shares on Facebook. One user commented "Unless Morgan is in the house lol," indicating that people will not be quick to forget the country star's reckless behavior.
Another wrote of his serious disappointment in the bar's joking attitude towards the incident: "I think maybe this is being taken too lightly, someone could have been badly injured over a careless act."
Wallen was arrested on Sunday night (April 7.) He wears a wide smile in his mugshot, reminiscent of Justin Bieber's own infamous mugshot. He later posted a $15,250 bond and was released in the early hours of Monday morning. However, the "Last Night" is by no means in the clear.
He is being charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct. Two of his reckless endangerment charges stem from his having thrown the chair right next to Metro Police officers; the other is for "the danger to the public."
"The felony charges are the most serious ones and could land Wallen in jail for up to six years if he is prosecuted and convicted of those charges," said former New York prosecutor Rither Alabre to Fox News.
Wallen will return to Nashville in a couple of months, when he will face a court date on May 3. He is set to perform at Nashville's Nissan Stadium On May 2, 3 and 4 while on his One Night at a Time tour.
In other news, Wallen's ex-girlfriend Katie "KT" Smith celebrated her marriage to fellow social media star Luke Scornavacco. Smith and Wallen share one child, son Indigo. The two became engaged on March 29 and posted photos confirming their marriage less than two weeks later.
Wallen also recently earned six nominations for the ACM Awards, which will take place on May 16. Wallen, who is a previous ACM winner, is nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Music Event of the Year and Artist-Songwriter of the Year.
In February, Wallen announced his plan to open a bar of his own in Nashville's Lower Broadway district. The six-story "bar, restaurant and live music concept" will be called "This Bar."
