What is a Kanye West show without a rant of some kind? Nearly every stop on his Yeezus Tour has given his fans not just a great performance, but also a sound bite to discuss the next day. After coming under fire for demanding that a wheelchair-bound concert goer rise from their seat at his Sydney, Australia show, Kanye was looking for a bit of understanding at his Brisbane tour stop. This time out he ranted for a full five minutes about his very favorite topic- the media- saying,
"I'm a married, Christian man with a family, pick another target."
That's actually fairly low key for a Kanye rant, isn't it? He blew off the incident that had occurred in Sydney and was pretty dismissive when asked about it, however he definitely handled himself a bit better than usual in Brisbane. Instead of demanding that everyone in the audience get on their feet- or else Kanye West instead he asked everyone not handicapped or confined to a wheelchair to get up.
Are you buying Kanye's new schtick about just being a regular family man or do you think it's a new attempt to quiet the haters and to push the media back a few steps? Is Kanye capable of settling into an even slightly normal family life and do you think that he really sees himself as just a married Christian man? If so something really seems to have put his ego in check. Do you think that the wheelchair incident could have humbled the infamously egotistical rapper even a smidge? Is that what is at work here or is it just a different PR approach at work? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
