Rising K-Pop group BabyMonster have shattered industry records with their new EP, BABYMONS7ER.

The seven-track release broke the highest first-week sales record for a female K-Pop group when they sold over 400,000 copies of their new release. They are the first girl group to launch under YG Entertainment since BlackPink.

The lead single for the album, titled "SHEESH," broke out on the Billboard Global 20 Chart, climbing the ranks in several other countries around the world. The song's music video debuted at No. 1 on YouTube's global music video ranking, garnering over 100 million views.

BabyMonster consists of seven members, Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita.

The group has amassed tremendous success on the app, also breaking streaming records with their debut single, "BATTER UP," which is currently sitting with 230 million views on the platform. It debuted at No. 5 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart, making history as the fastest debut K-Pop song to do so.

Their star will continue to rise when they perform at the largest music festival in Japan this year, Summer Sonic 2024. The Tokyo-set event will also feature Jon Batiste, MÅNESKIN, Lil Yacthy, Laufey, Tyl, and Greta Van Fleet.

The group has received several accolades, including being named Billboard's K-Pop's Star to Watch and one of NYLON's Bands to Watch in 2024. They have topped streaming numbers on Spotify and continue to chart on Billboard.

The EP opens with the introductory "MONSTERS," which leads right into the acclaimed single "SHEESH." The nex song is "LIKE THAT," which is followed by "Stuck In The Middle (7 ver.)," "BATTER UP (7 Ver.)," and "DREAM." The album concludes with an edited remix of "Stuck in the Middle."

Aside from BlackPink, YG Entertainment is home to several successful K-Pop groups, including Treasure, Eun Ji-won, Akdong Musician, and Winner. Aside from hosting the group, the label also represents the solo careers of BlackPink members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa.

Following much anticipation when YG Entertainment announced plans for a new girl group, their selection process was chronicled through reality competition series Last Evaluation. After thousands of girls who had been training for years showed up to audition, the group expanded from an originally-planned five to seven members. The group was formally revealed in January 2023, releasing their debut single 11 months later.

Their first fan meeting tour is planned for May 2024, plotting stops in Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, and Indonesia.
