Kelly Clarkson has further cemented her reign as the "Queen of Covers" with a new performance leaving the original singer "sobbing."

Clarkson performed a moody rendition of Teddy Swims' "Some Things I'll Never Know" on her talk show Wednesday. The cover immediately caught attention on social media from several fans, including the original singer himself.

The Kelly Clarkson Show posted the video to their Instagram account, where Swims commented: "Omg !!!!! I'm sobbing." Following his message, the comments section was flooded with pleas for the two hitmakers to collaborate on a new song.

"Wow! The fact that Teddy Swims (author/singer of this song) and Kelly Clarkson both bring so much emotion to this song in their own way, shows the quality of these artists. Congrats."

"DUET. NOW. This isn't a request but more of a prophecy fulfilled. Your fans desire it. The universe requires it."

Another comment said it wanted to start a "petition for Kelly and Teddy to do music together," which garnered 647 likes.

The praise came after Clarkson and Swims performed a duet of his single "Lose Control" last month, along with the "Since U Been Gone" singer performing her own version of "Dose."

Starting off each episode of her talk show with a "Kellyoke" cover performance, Clarkson is frequently known to upstage the original artist once she performs their song. Last month, her rendition of Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?" Barbie song went viral, being praised as "otherworldly."

"Kelly Clarkson was made to be the thanos of music covers," an audience member wrote about Clarkson's vocal power.

Several of Clarkson's celebrity pals also shared their praise for the cover, with Jason Derulo commenting "Wow" and Nicoel Scherzinger saying that she "could listen to [Clarkson] sing forever."

Katy Perry would also agree with the praise. After the American Idol winner covered "Wide Awake" off of her acclaimed sophomore album, Teenage Dream, earlier this year, Perry joked that she can "never sing that song again."

Clarkson covers a wide range of genres during the segment, singing songs by Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Cher, Chris Stapleton, Whitney Houston, and many more. In 2022, she released a Kellyoke EP featuring select covers of fan-favorite renditions.

Teddy Swims burst onto the scene in 2019 after she gained national attention for posting covers to his YouTube channel. His breakout single, "Lose Control," was released in 2023, landing in high places on several song charts, including the Billboard Hot 100. The song is still placed at No. 5 on the chart, joining the ranks with indsutry giants like Beyonce, Hozier, Kendrick Lamar, and Future.
