The release of Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city follow up is slowly approaching.
The Compton rapper has kept the details of his forthcoming release under raps but he shed some light on his latest project during a recent interview with Rolling Stone, per MTV.
"There was a lot left out of good kid-it could have been a 30-track album," Lamar told the magazine for their most recent issue, withTaylor Swift on the cover. "There are a few new [songs] that can tie in with what I was talking about."
As far as production, Lamar says he has cut "a bunch of tracks" with Dr. Dre and TDE's in-house producers Digi+Phonics.
"He's gone in the lab and tried to really elevate himself," he said of Dr. Dre.
Lyrically, fans can expect "aggression and emotion." The album won't feature many cameos.
Earlier this year, Kendrick Lamar spoke on the pressure to top his debut, but he didn't seem too worried about it.
"I think it's like fun, if anything, because it's a challenge not only for myself, [for] my fans. And just me creatively," he told 106 KMEL, according to Rap-Up. "I think it's more of an anxious-type feeling. I was like, 'I'ma go out here and give it my best shot for what I know.' And I'ma do that the second time around."
Until his album drops, Kendrick Lamar can be heard on Jeezy's "Holy Ghost," Flying Lotus' "Never Catch Me," and Chris Brown's recently leaked "Autumn Leaves."
The latter is slated to be featured on Brown's highly anticipated Sept. 16 release of X. Take a listen to Chris Brown and Kendrick Lamar's collaboration here.
