Live music performances have always been riddled with technical problems - whether it's the artists losing sound on their microphone or a busted speaker - these things can surely make both audiences and the performers frustrated.
Grimes' Coachella performance was no exception to that unfortunate incident.
Grimes Coachella Technical Difficulty
In the middle of her set on the Sahara stage on the second night of the annual music and arts festival, Grimes experienced some technical errors halfway through her set. At one point, her backing vocals played twice the speed she wanted. (via Entertainment Weekly)
This prompted the singer to restart her "Music 4 Machines" multiple times, but it didn't seem to work.
"This is a difficult thing to explain but we're having a major technical error," she told the audience." Don't judge me for being bad at calculating things."
However, the problems only kept on persisting, prompting her to scream into the microphone while trying to think of the solution.
"I'm trying to think. I'm not good enough at math for this s---," she revealed. Sadly, because of the frustration, Grimes was forced to end her set earlier than expected.
Fans expressed their sentiments on social media following her chaotic set.
"I love Grimes's music, and the pressure must be crazy to do a show like this - but her show at Coachella is the musician's version of nightmares where your teeth fall out and everyone laughs," one joked.
"I love the irony of Grimes being a weird techno-futurist who wants humanity to merge with AI and create a transhumanist libertarian utopia and then fucking up her Coachella set due to technical difficulties," another said.

Grimes Apologizes for Coachella Technical Snafu
In a social media post on X, Grimes apologized to her fans, assuring that such technical snafu wouldn't happen again next week.
"I want to apologize for the technical issues with the show tonight. I wanted to come back rly strong and usually I always handle every aspect of my show myself - to save time this was one of the first times I've outsourced essential things like rekordbox bpm's and letting someone else organize the tracks on the sd card etc," she tweeted.
In an effort to makeup, she assured her fans that she would "personally organize" all the files for her second set next week on Apr. 19, 2024.
"I've spent months on this show, making music and visuals, and admittedly am not in the best mood (at the moment) But, yeh - next week will be flawless. everything will run (through) my hands," she added.
