Stevie Nicks contributed a heartfelt poem to Taylor Swift's new album, The Tortured Poets Department.

The revered 75-year-old Fleetwood Mac frontwoman crafted the verses last August, penning a prologue for the 34-year-old pop sensation's latest musical offering.

In a poetic dedication titled "For T and me...," per The Independent, Nicks shares that the verses were penned in Austin, Texas.

"He was in love with her -- or at least she thought so. She was brokenhearted, and maybe he was too."

"Neither of them knew / She was way too hot to handle / He was way too high to try / He couldn't even see her / He wouldn't open his eyes."

It also includes the line, "'She was on her way to the stars / He didn't say goodbye."

In anticipation of the songs on Swift's eleventh studio album, the haunting poem explored the tragic tale of star-crossed lovers.

This lyrical piece has sparked fan discussions, suggesting it mirrors Swift's ill-fated romance with actor Joe Alwyn and fleeting connection with 1975 frontman Matty Healy.

Many artists recognize Nicks as a key musical influence who has inspired their work.

One notable collaboration occurred when Nicks and Swift shared the stage at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards in January 2010.

During their performance, they showcased a blend of iconic tunes, including "Rhiannon" by Fleetwood Mac, a song written by Nicks, along with "Today Was A Fairytale" and "You Belong With Me," popular hits by Swift.

Opening the Grammy Awards ceremony that year, Swift expressed her admiration for sharing the spotlight with the iconic singer. "It's a fairy tale and an honor to share the stage with Stevie Nicks."

A Tribute to Nicks

In The Tortured Poets Department's song "Clara Bow," Swift paid tribute to the legendary two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

"You look like Stevie Nicks in '75, the hair and lips / Crowd goes wild at her fingertips, half moon shine a full eclipse," Swift sings.

Shortly after midnight on Friday, April 19, the 14-time Grammy winner released The Tortured Poets Department. To everyone's surprise, two hours later, Swift revealed an expanded project. She released The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, which included an additional 15 songs.
