Morgan Wallen has issued a statement nearly two weeks after he was arrested for allegedly tossing a chair off the roof of a Nashville bar, nearly hitting some police officers on the street below.
"I didn't feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks," he said in the post on X, formerly Twitter, on Friday (April 19) evening. "I've touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief's. I'm not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility."
"I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change," he added, ending the post with his initials.
On April 8, after allegedly throwing a chair from the six-story roof of Chief's, Eric Church's recently opened bar on Nashville's Lower Broadway, Wallen was arrested and spent a short time in jail.
According to reports, the chair nearly hit two Nashville police officers on the street below. Following the incident, Wallen was taken into custody and charged around midnight with three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.
He was released at approximately 3:30 a.m. after a $15,250 bond was posted for his release. Wallen's attorney confirmed the arrest and added that his client "is cooperating fully with authorities."
