Kanye West has faced criticism for making offensive antisemitic remarks, sharing revealing photos of his wife Bianca Censori, and grabbing a paparazzo's phone.
Experts now suggest the rapper has an intense fixation on media attention.
Jeannie Assimos, a former Managing Editor at Entertainment Tonight, closely observed the controversial rapper's behavior over the years.
Having closely observed the turbulent journey of the "All of the Lights" hitmaker, from his sudden ascent to fame to his public relations downfall, Assimos believes West's recent attention-grabbing actions are a strategic move to reclaim his stardom. She shares her thoughts on his latest antics in an interview with The Mirror.
West's Obsession
Assimos asserts that the West and Censori's public appearances are meticulously planned and executed on West recent marriage December 2022 following his high-profile separation from Kim Kardashian. This led to shared custody of their four children.
Additionally, Censori has been daring to push the boundaries of fashion by confidently flaunting barely-there ensembles during their public appearances.
"I believe [Censori] and [West's] outings are to continue the mystique and create continued interest in his brand. I think he is obsessed with the media attention, and she is a so-called prop that he has no shame in using."
The expert continued, "I think [West] and [Censori] are absolutely upping their game with the press. A perfect example is the media-dubbed 'condom dress' she was just photographed wearing. Celebrities know where to go to get photographed. They also know where to go and be private."

"This is fully orchestrated. [West] seems to be building a very bizarre brand, and at this point, it's almost like a trainwreck that the public can't stop watching. But would they buy anything from him at this point?"
She added, "Big brands he had former associations with don't think so. TV host Bill Maher even recently refused to air a podcast interview with [West] because he didn't want to perpetuate antisemitic comments from the rapper."
Assimos offered her perspective on West's trajectory explaining that while the "Carnival" hitmaker continues to attract attention from photographers and the media, his brand has undeniably suffered.
