In the past few years, Jelly Roll has been widely celebrated in the country music scene because of his relatable music and one-of-a-kind stage charisma.
Although his huge voice has been attributed to his burly stature, it also became something that online bullies have used against him. Now, the singer's wife revealed that the amount of flak that Jelly Roll receives about his body has driven him to deactivate his Instagram account.
Jelly Roll Deactivates Instagram After Being Bullied
Speaking on the Dumb Blonde podcast, Jelly Roll's wife, Bunnie Xo, revealed that her husband has deactivated his social media account because of the number of negative comments he has received about his body.
"My husband got off the internet because he is so tired of being bullied about his f---ing weight, and that makes me want to cry because he is the sweetest angel baby," she confessed.
However, Jelly Roll's Instagram is still up and running; although his last post on the social media platform was on April 9, promoting his appearance as a mentor in American Idol.
Since then, Jelly Roll has been noticeably silent on social media.
"The internet can say whatever the f--- they want about you and they say: 'Well you're a celebrity. You're supposed to be able to handle it.' No the f--- we're not. Enough is enough," Bunnie told the podcast, saying that the comments "hurt" her husband.
Elsewhere in the podcast appearance, Bunnie imparted important advice to social media users.
"Don't bully people, because you never know where they are mentally. There are a lot of people who are not as strong as me, that are on the internet, and they don't deserve to f---ing be bullied," she added.
