Mel B's dating history may be the most colorful among all the Spice Girls, given that she dated director Christine Crokos from 2002 to 2006.
She talks about her five-year relationship with the Crokos in a new interview.
Mel B Discusses Her Relationship With Christine Crokos
Speaking to Attitude magazine, Melanie Brown fondly recalls her relationship with the director after they called it quits in 2006.
"I happened to fall in love with a woman and was with her for five years. We still talk to this day," she confessed to the publication. "I don't want to put a label on it, but I've always thought women are beautiful."
At 48, Brown emphasized that she was never compelled to speak out about her sexuality. "I didn't start off my sexual journey going, 'I'm this, I'm that, I'm bisexual,'" she said.
Living together in Los Angeles, Brown revealed that it "wasn't experimentation."
"I fell in love with a woman for five years. An experiment doesn't last five years," she told Gay Star News.
Brown was also once linked with her fellow Spice Girl Geri Halliwell after joking about sleeping with her.
Mel B Recalls Traumatizing Relationship With Ex-Husband Stephen Belafonte
Although Brown has been known as "Scary Spice," she wasn't immune to traumatizing events. While she still connects with Crokos, Brown says she has been traumatized by her allegedly abusive marriage to Stephen Belafonte.
"I wasn't just emotionally and physically abused, there was all the financial abuse, too. I didn't realize that I didn't have as much money as I thought I had," she recalled to BBC. "So I literally had to eat humble pie, live with my mum."
Mel B filed for divorce from Belafonte in March 2017, and it was finalized by December 2017. She even dropped the abuse claims. Despite being the one who was allegedly abused, Mel B still paid Belafonte $15,000 for spousal support and $350,000 for his attorney fees.
Since moving back to England, Mel B has been engaged to Rory McPhee since October 2022. However, as of this writing, reports of their wedding remain mum.
