Jason Aldean's Donald Trump impression was approved by the man himself.

The "Try That in a Small Town" singer shared a wacky video skit on Halloween this past year. The lengthy video featured his wife, Brittany, as Joe Biden and Jason as Trump. Brittany portrays Biden as disoriented and senile, while Jason dances around as the politician.

He now reveals that he had called up a friend to send the video to Trump to get his blessing before the nearly-four minute clip went live.

"I definitely made a call in the beginning and sent the video to a friend of ours and said, 'Hey, make sure you run this by him,'" Aldean revealed on a recent episode of The Rob + Holly Show.

Once he got the "ok," Aldean and his wife launched the video onto their social media platforms, going viral among both fans and critics. He goes on to praise the former president's sense of humor.

"Obviously it was fine...The one thing I'll say about President Trump is he's got a great sense of humor, clearly, he's had to have had. So they thought it was great to have fun and do something silly. We couldn't resist that this year."

The Aldeans are friends of the divisive politician. They celebrated New Year's at Mar-A-Lago in 2022. At the event, Whiskey Riff reports that Trump introduced the singer as "the number one in the world," although he did not specify what he was ranking.

"Well, this New Year's was the best of all time. I got to spend a couple days with the G.O.A.T," Aldean shared on Instagram, praising Trump as a "class act." "This man is unbelievable and I wish u all could see what he does behind the scenes."

The photos feature a shot of the couple with Trump at an elegant party of some kind, along with photos and a video of Aldean golfing with the Apprentice host. The video shows Trump critiquing Aldean's golfing skills, giving him pointers on his putting skills.

When Aldean's "Try That in a Small Town" single caught heat last year, Trump went onto social media to defend it. He praised the song and Aldean's skills as a musician.

"Jason Aldean is a fantastic guy who just came out with a great new song," he posted. "Support Jason all the way. MAGA!"

The song, which went No. 1 upon its release, was meant as a response to the Black Lives Matter movement. The music video was filmed in front of the Maury County Courthouse in Columbia, Tennessee. Nearly a century before the song was released, the location is known for being where an innocent man was lynched by an angry mob.

While Country Music Television banned the video from its platform after an extensive amount of backlash. However, Aldean was seemingly forgiven when he was invited to perform at their CMTs awards ceremony earlier this year.
