Britney Spears Settles Legal Dispute With Dad
Led by lawyer Mathew S. Rosengart, Britney's legal team was battling to prevent their client from having to pay her father's legal fees.
The central argument was that Jamie had allegedly abused his conservatorship authority, which he retained until September 2019, to pay himself $6 million.
The settlement's terms were not made public, but Rosengart stated in a statement on Friday that Britney had at last achieved her aim of having complete freedom.
"As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter," he stated to Page Six.

Compared to the media frenzy that erupted more than two years ago, there are few details regarding the case's resolution.
After Britney appeared in public before a Los Angeles court on June 23, 2021, and told the judge that she was being detained against her will and that her conservators-including her father, whom she had previously stated she wanted imprisoned-had taken away all of her rights, everything for her changed.
Spears has sold over two million copies of her best-selling autobiography, "The Woman in Me," since ending the conservatorship.
She has also collaborated on songs with Will.i.am and Elton John.
Nevertheless, Britney has clarified that she no longer prioritizes her music career.
While the lawyer does not say if Spears is committed to staying out of the limelight, he does say about her achievements since h thener conservatorship ended are remarkable.
"Since obtaining her freedom in late 2021, Britney Spears has achieved remarkable success on several fronts," he notes, adding that "Hold Me Closer" actually charted on top of the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and became her 24th Top 10 single.
