Kate Hudson did not mince her words when a troll told her that she was "too old" to sing after she decided to explore her musical capabilities.

Hudson is pursuing singing after years as working as an actress. It seems she's entering her fearless era with bluntness and confidence.

Kate Hudson Slams Troll Who Criticized Her Singing Career

Speaking to CBS' Sunday Mornings, Hudson shared an encounter she once had with a troll who talked about her decision to pursue singing.

"There was someone who said to me -- and it kind of jarred me a little," she recalled. "It was when I was in my early 30s, and they basically said, 'It's done, it's passed. You can't, you're too old.'"

The Oscar-nominated actress issued a two-word response to the critic.

"And you know, for me, it wasn't just about being a performer, it was about wanting to write music. So it kind of, like, kind of resonated there for a bit," she explained. "And then I was like, 'Eh, f - - k you.' No, no one tells me what to do."

According to the 45-year-old actress, she just doesn't care anymore what people think of her decision to pursue music at this point in her life.

"It was never right, whether it was my own stuff or feeling afraid to mess up my movie career -- just never felt right. Until now. I'm just doing it."

Although Hudson has yet to release her debut studio album, she has experience in singing before. She played Cassandra July on the fourth season of Glee and was nominated for Best Actress - Motion Picture Comedy or Musical at the 78th Golden Globe Awards for her singing and acting role in Music.

Kate Hudson Auditioned for Musical Films

In the same interview, Hudson also revealed that she has tried to audition for musical films in the past, but was never really successful.

"Any musical that you've seen in the last 15 years, I have auditioned for it!" she recalled. "Oh, oh God, I'll never forget one of my favorite auditions of all time was Moulin Rouge with Baz Luhrmann. And we had so much fun. And at the time, it was written for -- I was like 19 at the time - it was actually written for a young girl, and Nicole [Kidman] ended up doing it -- she wanted to do it! And I was like, 'Oh well, my chances are gone!' I mean, all of them, a ton. That's what we do: We audition!"

However, she did land roles in Nine and Glee, where she sang a remix of "Americano/Dance Again," "Uptight," and "All That Jazz."
