Melissa McCarthy breaks her silence after social media was taken aback by Barbra Streisand's unfiltered question on her recent social media post.

While Streisand had already clarified what she meant by her comment, McCarthy gave a rather reassuring answer for both of their fans.

Melissa McCarthy Unfazed Over Barbra Streisand's Ozempic Comment

As she was being cornered by TMZ, Emmy-winning actress McCarthy finally opened up about what she thought of Streisand's comment on her Instagram post.

When asked by the outlet whether Streisand was "out of line" for what she asked, McCarthy waved off the interviewer and said: "I think Barbra is a treasure and I love her."

Barbra Streisand Apologizes Over Ozempic Comment

McCarthy's reaction came hours after Streisand took to social media and explained what her comment was about.

"I went on Instagram to see the photos we'd posted of the beautiful flowers I'd received for my birthday!" she wrote. "Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with on my Encore album. She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world is reading!"

True enough, Streisand and McCarthy have a history of working together. The EGOT-winner invited the "Little Mermaid" singer on her Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway to sing "Anything You Can Do" from Annie Get Your Gun.

Barbra Streisand Ask Melissa McCarthy If She Takes Ozempic

All the ruckus between the two actress-singers stemmed from Streisand's controversial comment on McCarthy's Instagram post where she has shown significant weight loss.

"Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?" Streisand bluntly asked.

Streisand's innocent comment was perceived as brutal because of how Hollywood stars allegedly use Ozempic to fast-track weight loss despite being used primarily to treat Diabetes. McCarthy has been accused of using the controversial drug after her significant weight loss transformation.

Diabetes UK warned that "It is not a medication for people who do not have diabetes or are at risk of type 2 diabetes."

Ozempic is injected into the bloodstream to help manage blood sugar levels. The pill has since become a fast-growing trend among celebrities and other high-profile personalities, but its use remains controversial.

Stars like Oprah Winfrey, Keke Palmer, Tracy Morgan, Whoopi Goldberg, Sharon Osbourne, Kate Winslet, and more have confessed to using Ozempic, People magazine reports.
