After taking a musical beating from fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, Drake made an appearance at the second night of Nicki Minaj's #GagCity tour stop in Toronto. Drizzy is a native of the city. The two united for a duet of "Needle" from Minaj's latest album, Pink Friday 2.
"Make some noise for the King of Toronto!" commanded Minaj to her audience before receiving an intimate side-hug from Drake. The rapper also gave her a kiss on the cheek, as she smiled.
Minaj then referred to Drake as "this icon, this legend," as he began to groove around on stage.
"I just wanna pull up the Maybach and bend your leg back/Please, obey that, don't delay that, my lil' wild eye/Been a shy guy all of my life, we should change that," coos Drake on the song's chorus. "Needle" is a tropical track rife with bouncy prodution.
After the show, Nicki took to X to emphasize her affection for the "One Dance" rapper, writing "Looking through my DRICKI pics & they came out so cute. Awwwwwwwww. He made me so happy tonight by coming out. Them screams be REAL different when the boy touch down chi. Posting some IG content shortly."
On Instagram, she shared multiple "Dricki" videos from the concert. Drake and Minaj laughed and played around on stage as they commended each other's talents.
"Toronto, Toronto, please. It's been too long since I got to share the stage with this beautiful woman," says Drake in one clip.
Minaj's excitement in her caption saying that night was a "magical moment in time that I'll never forget." She then referred to Drake as "the SUPERSTAR of ALL SUPERSTARS. The GENIUS we call DRAKE."
She continued, stating that the two were "really doing everything we used to talk about, dream about, worry about..."
Minaj and Drake have several songs together, including "Moment 4 Life" and "Truffle Butter." Along with Lil Wayne, Minaj and Drake became the faces of Young Money Records, a subsidiary of Cash Money Records. The three artists previously collaborated on "Only" and "No Frauds."
Before heading off stage, Drake appeared to respond to Lamar's "Euphoria" diss. Standing center stage, he said "You know what time it is, you know what I gotta do." Fans believe that this indicates the rapper is ready to write another diss track. Drake has already released two responses to Lamar's original "Like That" verse: "Push Ups" and "Taylor Made."
Earlier, Drake posted a clip of the '90s classic, 10 Things I Hate About You to his Instagram story, seemingly replying to Lamar's pointed lyrics where he declares: "I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk/I hate the way that you dress/I hate the way you sneak diss."
