Concerts from Nicki Minaj, Barry Manilow, and more are in jeopardy as Olivia Rodrigo was forced to postpone her concerts at a Manchester venue that is delving further into chaos.
This weekend's London performances of the Grammy-winner's Guts Tour have been postponed due to serious technical difficulties at Manchester's new Co-Op Live venue.
"I've been having such a great time in Europe so far and I'm sooooo disappointed that we're unable to perform in Manchester due to on-going venue-related technical issues," Rodrigo posted to her Instagram Story on Wednesday night.
The "Vampire" singer went to say that they are trying hard to reschedule the performances, but did not give any specific details as to when a future show might take place.
"We're doing our best to reschedule the show. You can hold onto your tickets for further info or request a refund at your point of purchase. More info will be sent directly to ticket holders. I'm so bummed and I really hope to see you all soon," she concluded the post.
The postponement comes as the venue, which has faced a series of chaotic technical difficulties, dealt with a component of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system falling to the ground during the soundcheck for a recent A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie show. Although nobody was injured, the venue was still forced to cancel Boogie's show 10 minutes before doors were to open.
"During soundcheck, a component of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, used to direct air, separated from the ductwork," a statement from a spokesperson read. "Although we believe this to be an isolated incident caused by a factory defect, we were not able to verify that all similar nozzles were free of such defects. In conjunction with wider stakeholders, Oak View Group has made the necessary call to ensure the full safety of all visitors to the venue, and to postpone the performance."
The 23,500-capacity venue has been facing some serious setbacks after ongoing technical problems have doomed its official opening.
Co-Op Live was slated to host its first performance on April 23 with comedian Peter Kay. However, his shows were moved back a week after a failed power test that stemmed from a dry-run event with singer Rick Astley that only used half the venue. Since the venue could not sustain power while being half full, it would not have been able to accommodate the full houses for Kay and Rodrigo.

Kay's shows were then moved to May, along with a Black Keys concert that was supposed to take place on April 27. Billboard reports that Kay took to social media to apologize to his own fans when the venue still was not ready.
"My apologies once again but unfortunately the Co-op Live still isn't ready and so, as yet, remains untested for a large-scale audience," he told the disappointed audience. "Consequently, they are having to reschedule my two shows yet again (I know I can't believe it either)."
Upcoming shows by Minaj, Manilow, the Eagles, Keane, and more remain in jeopardy as they are all scheduled to take the stage at the venue in coming weeks.
