The highly anticipated return of Britney Spears has reportedly been delayed after troubling images surfaced, showing her disoriented outside a Los Angeles hotel.
Towards the end of 2013, news emerged that Charli XCX was reportedly and Spears are working on a project, originally scheduled to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the pop star's iconic debut album, Baby One More Time.
According to an insider, discussions have been ongoing within the inner circle of the "Toxic" singer regarding a potential collaboration with Sony Music. The aim of this partnership is to empower the mother of two after years of being under conservatorship control.
However, a new report by The Sun said that progress on these negotiations is being deliberately delayed to ensure that Spears is fully prepared to embark on the next chapter of her journey.
Britney Spears' Comeback Delayed
According to a source who spoke to the outlet, "The team has been working on exciting plans, but her wellbeing is in the front of their minds, and no one wants to rush."
Fans naturally became worried upon catching a glimpse of the singer at the Chateau Marmont hotel with police and an ambulance in attendance.
In response to speculation about a confrontation with her on-off boyfriend, Paul Soliz, she promptly refuted the claims and clarified that it was an unfortunate accident.
Spears' Ankle Injury
Meanwhile, a podiatrist expert has issued a warning, suggesting that Spears may have suffered a "lateral ankle sprain" and could need rehabilitation.
In an effort to substantiate her injury claims, the 42-year-old singer took to Instagram to share evidence, displaying her visibly swollen ankle.
Upon reviewing the concerning videos circulating online, podiatrist Marion Yau from the Harley Medical Foot and Nail Clinic in London, United Kingdom, provided insights into the potential seriousness of Britney's injury in an exclusive interview with The Sun.

According to the expert, "She indicated in the report that she landed on her foot weirdly or funny. It's common for the foot to invert when there is a lateral ankle sprain."
In a thorough analysis, Yau observed that the direction of movement extends and converges with consistency. This observation highlighted the prevalence of the "Womanizer" singer's injury, emphasizing its typical occurrence under similar circumstances.
"When landing awkwardly from a jump or stumble, the injury can manifest in various ways. Typically, one experiences swelling and discomfort either externally or on the side of the foot."
"There is also usually pain in movement when you move the foot. It hurts quite a bit when you have a severe ankle sprain."
Yau cautioned about potential complications for Spears if her common injury fails to heal effectively.
"If left unresolved, a lateral ankle sprain may lead to foot instability, possibly progressing to a high-low ankle sprain injury."
She further explained, "You can also have peroneal tendonitis or a peroneal tendon injury or injure your deltoid ligaments, which are the area around the front of the ankle. You can also fracture the bones around the ankle area."
In her detailed explanation, Yau highlighted that ankle injuries are typically classified into three grades, with Spears seemingly falling into a category above the least severe level. Without observing the singer's gait or obtaining further details on the extent of discomfort, Yau estimated the injury to be more likely a grade two, marked by ligament damage, swelling, and moderate pain.
