Madonna ended her Celebration Tour with a blast - by kissing one of her dancers like how she did to Britney Spears two decades ago.

On Saturday, May 4, the Queen of Pop marked the historic last stop of her Celebration Tour at the Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. The show reportedly drew a 1.6 million crowd, according to Deadline.

Madonna Recreates 2003 Britney Spears Steamy Kiss

Videos from the Celebration Tour's last show went viral on X, with some clips showing Madonna kissing her dancer while performing onstage. The "Material Girl" hitmaker donned a silky red dress while her dancer sported a backless black top and black trouser pants.

The moment seemingly gave a nod to her 2003 MTV Video Music Awards surprise, during which she kissed Spears. It must be noted that Madonna also kissed Christina Aguilera at the time, though it was not shown on TV as the show opted to capture Justin Timberlake's reaction to the smooch following his split from the "Toxic" singer in 2002.

Spears opened up about the 2003 performance in her memoir, The Woman in Me, saying they rehearsed their "Like a Virgin" performance and practiced an air kiss.

"About two minutes before the performance, I was sitting on the side of the stage and thinking about my biggest performance to date at the VMAs, when I'd pulled off a suit to reveal a sparkly outfit," Spears wrote in her book. "I thought to myself: I want a moment like that again this year. With the kiss, should I just go for it?"

Madonna Sets Record With Her Celebration Tour

Aside from the kiss, Madonna surprised her Brazil crowd with performances of her hit songs. AP News said the songstress started her setlist with "Nothing Really Matters" before singing her famous tracks like "Like a Prayer," "Like a Virgin" and "Hung Up."

Madonna completed her show with appearances from Brazilian artists Pabilo Vittar and Anitta.

Rio's tourism agency estimated that 1.6 million people watched the show live, surpassing the records The Rolling Stones made in 2006 when 1.2 million people watched their performance at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Rod Stewart had the biggest free rock concert in 1994, welcoming around 4 million to the show.
