Luke Hemmings revealed how Kelly Clarkson helped him meet his wife.

On Tuesday, May 7, Clarkson welcomed Hemmings to her The Kelly Clarkson Show, where the 5 Seconds of Summer singer opened up about his wife and how the host played a huge role in their marriage.

Hemmings met his wife, Sierra Deaton, in Los Angeles and started dating in 2018. They sparked marriage rumors for months, but he only confirmed it during his interview with Entertainment Tonight during Billboard's 2024 Golden Globes afterparty.

"I don't know if you know this, but I owe my whole marriage to you," Hemmings told Clarkson. "She watched you on American Idol and that made her want to go on X-Factor, and she won X-Factor, which made her move to L.A. when I did, and that's how we met."

Clarkson was shocked upon hearing the story, but Hemmings surprised her more when he revealed they might consider naming one of their future children after the host.

On the other hand, the 42-year-old "Underneath the Tree" singer opened up in March about why she had not dated anyone following her divorce from Brandon Blackstock.

"I am really loving not having a man in my life," Clarkson told Hoda Kotb. "It's just too hard! There's too much...all the jobs, plus the kids, plus being present for the kids while you're there. You know, sometimes people will still email you, and I'm like, 'No, no, no, we're home now, we're not doing this.'"

Clarkson also disclosed in her interview with People that she was not rushing to be in a relationship again.

The former couple met during a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards in May 2006. They dated for years until they got engaged in December 2012.

Clarkson and Blackstock tied the knot in October 2013 and welcomed their kids, daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander, during their marriage.

However, the matriarch filed for divorce in June 2020 after seven years of marriage. She was awarded primary physical custody of their kids, who reportedly hoped they would still reconcile.

"Your kids will still have a hard time. It doesn't matter if you stay, it doesn't matter if you go, I am still having conversations [with my kids] three years later," Clarkson said during her appearance on the "We Can Do Hard Things" podcast. "My kids just came back from my ex and any time there's mention of maybe him being with somebody else...they are just really adamant about keeping that dream alive that we might still be together one day."

They finalized their divorce in March 2022.
