Run The Jewels and El-P Vow to Make Good on 'Meow The Jewels' Album if Kickstarter Campaign Comes Through

Run The Jewels is noted for many things, one of which isn't taking the world too seriously. Thus it was less than surprising when the duo unrolled its mercy packages for the new Run The Jewels 2 album, which featured some absurd offers available for absurd amounts of money, including a rendition of the album featuring nothing but cat noise samples titled Meow The Jewels, which would involve El-P remixing the entire album and working in a few bonus clips of your cat mewing. Something he didn't think about: A group of fans crowdsourcing funds to make the project happen.

The hip-hop group probably didn't anticipate anyone shelling out $40,000 for such a prize but El-P has stated that if the Kickstarter campaign comes through, he'll most definitely deliver.

"Someone made a kickstarter to find the 'MEOW THE JEWELS PACKAGE.' if this gets funded i will make this album," he tweeted. "by the way if meow the jewels gets funded i will donate all the money to charity. true story."

We've always assumed that El's more of a cat person, based strictly on his longtime Twitter image, which features a cat in a space suit.

Those running the Kickstarter campaign have prize packages of their own to support the cause: Donate and you could end up with LP's, stickers and catnip for your own little guy. Run The Jewels listed, perhaps facetiously, that the winner of the "Meow The Jewels" package could make up to $100,000 profit legally. Those running the Kickstarter campaign plan on selling digital versions for $10 and donating all proceeds to families victimized by police brutality and foundations helping neglected animals.

Other packages you can get from Run The Jewels: The "WE ARE GORDON RAMSEY PACKAGE" will get the duo to make an episode of Kitchen Nightmares while both rappers pretend to be Gordon Ramsey. The "HOUSESITTERS DELUXE" involves the pair spending a weekend at your house.
