Christian singer Cory Asbury might regret dipping his toes into fan Q&As.
The interaction began when a fan submitted a question to Asbury, asking: "How does it feel knowing you have feet fans?" A social media user went on to notify him that he has a wikiFeet profile by responding to his Instagram story.
wikiFeet is an online photo-sharing service dedicated to the feet of celebrities. It includes a message board where users can discuss the feet of several stars, ranging from actors to musicians to politicians. The site was originally created for photos of women's feet, before wikiFeet Men expanded their content.
Asbury - who is also a worship pastor - initially did not believe the messages that he was featured on the fetish site. However, once he was instructed to Google "Cory Asbury" feet, he was stunned to see the results.
"U could make a lot of money on the side probs," the fan responded to the singer's surprised reaction.
He went on to share a screenshot of the Google results, which included several photos of his feet that he had posted on social media. The pictures were presumably screenshots of past Instagram stories that foot fans had grabbed for his profile.
He then shared his wikiFeet Men profile page, which included his shoe size, 10.5, birthday, and birthplace. He has a rating of 4.75 out of 5, which he said "isn't bad, I guess," accompanied by some sweating laughing emojis.
The score breakdown shows that he has 10 five-star-ratings, five 4-star-ratings, one 2-star-rating and a 1-star-rating.
Other photos on his page appear to be screen grabs from a video he had posted of his dog at his pool, which features one of his feet in the corner. Other pictures include his feet crossed while he lays in bed, along with a still of bare feet on an airplane.
The "Goodness of God" singer went on to address the matter on his Instagram story, posting a video where he shared several points of what was running through his mind.
"Alright, let's talk about it. This whole foot debacle is wild. Number one, how did they get my shoe size right? Number two, 4.73 out of 5 is respectable. The people of the world-wide-web, the internet, seem to have gotten it there. I've always considered myself as a person with some pretty nice little piggies, you know? So, it's nice," he said.
Tapping into his pastor capabilities, Asbury went on to quote scripture, relating a reading to his newfound fame in the foot fetish community.
"Number three, Romans 10:15, you know, are we taking scripture too literally? It says, 'How beautiful are the feet of the ones who bring good news.' Now I bring a lot of good news. It's who I am, it's what I do. It's what God's made me to do but are we potentially taking that verse too far? I think so."
However, he concluded that he might be able to use the high rating to his advantage, throwing out that he could start an Only Fans account and donate the proceeds to charity.
"Number four, is it wrong to start an OnlyFans for my feet, give the money to charity and the church, I could dig a lot of wells in Africa, I could help sick kids. There's a moral ambiguity there that I can't figure out. So, a lot going through my head right now."
