Taylor Swift has officially added a new era to her Eras Tour setlist.
The Grammy-winner took to the stage in Paris for her first concerts since The Tortured Poets Department was relased. Swift started by adding "But Daddy I Love Him" to the concert setlist, performing new tracks for the very first time since the chart-topping album debuted.
Instead of singing the final chorus of "But Daddy, I Love Him," Swift went on to sing a portion of "So High School," which is off the "Anthology" version of the album. The next song up was "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?," which was complimented by the audience screaming along to the title.
Swift then debuted a mashup of "Fortnight" and "Down Bad," which included visuals that showed her being abducted by aliens while a "TTPD" balcony rose up from the ground. The songs were followed up by "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived."
The era came to a triumphant end when Swift performed "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart." The performance resembled an old-fashioned movie musical, with Swift being backed up by dancers in top hats with canes and feather fans.
While the massive production takes the audience through each of her album eras, all eyes were on the concert to see if The Tortured Poets Department would be added in over a year into the trek. The crowd at Paris La Défense Arena - which is currently holding 40,000 Swifties - erupted into cheers as Swift kicked off the new addition to the set list.
Prior to the show, it was confirmed by a concert promoter that the new album would be integrated into the performance. During a radio interview, he shared that she was "going to include new pieces from her new album," Us Weekly reports.
Speculation continued when some eagle-eyed Swifties noticed a white dress and a stuffed monkey toy being hidden under the stage prior to the performance starting. Since neither of the props were utilized in past concerts, many assumed that they would be used in a new section.
The debut of the Tortured Poets songs comes as the show is being filmed and recorded today. Large signs inside the stadium signaled to attendees that they would be on camera. Any plans for a future release of the performance are kept under wraps.
While it is unclear why the taping was taking place, Swift has released music videos using concert footage in the past. If she is unable to film legitimate music videos for the Tortured Poets singles due to her rigorous performance schedule, she may have plans to give fans a professionally recorded look at the new songs.
The addition of some of the new songs follows a series of other changes made to the show, including new light up bracelets, new additions to the famed pre-show playlist, and the return of Paramore as the concert's opening act.
Swift will continue to perform for four more nights in Paris, before taking the show to Sweden next weekend. She will then return to France for two more shows before continuing the European concert trek in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Austria, and more.
