Megan Thee Stallion has released the third track in her new snake-y new series of singles.

"BOA" follows "Cobra," a lament targeting her ex-boyfriend Pardi, and "HISS," a braggadocious self-explainer that featured a jab at Nicki Minaj.

The words "These hoes don't be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan's law" were the shots heard 'round the rap world as Megan pointed fingers at Minaj's husband, who is a sex offender. Megan's Law is a federal law that requires law enforcement to make information about registered sex offenders publicly available.

"BOA" returns with the high energy and undeniable confidence of "HISS." The song is the most diss-heavy of the three singles, with Megan taking multiple shots at who listeners can only assume is Minaj.

She chirps other rappers, saying that they need to use TikTok to get listens while she's already rolling in dough. "They all know my sh-- hot, ain't listen when your sh-- drop/"All my diamonds dancin', I ain't need to make no TikTok," she declares. Megan notably ruled the TikTok air waves with her 2020 hits "Savage" and "WAP ft. Cardi B."

The track features a relentless, high-pitched repetition of "Tick, tock, tick, tock" with "lalala"'s that are reminiscent of the chimes of "Lemons on the chain with the V cuts" from Gucci Mane's song, "Lemonade." The background coos serve as a double entendre, sounding like both a clock and the name of the inescapable social media app.

She later serves a harsh question to Minaj, asking "Bitch, your time up, why is you not clockin' out?" Minaj's more recent works, including a diss directed at Megan entitled "Big Foot," have received less critical acclaim than previous records. Minaj has been in the rap game for 20 years.

"Bitches is messy but I'm petty," she raps, once again taking a stab at Minaj. The Pink Friday rapper's full last name is Maraj-Petty since marrying Kenneth Petty. Kenneth's being a convicted sex offender lead Megan to diss him in "HISS."

LilJuMadeDaBeat steers the production on "BOA," offering a bassier, hi-hat riddled instrumental on which Megan's flows sit perfectly. However, Megan could benefit from bringing new producers into her arsenal as LilJuMadeDaBeat has helmed the production of nearly all of her recent records.

Megan borrowed from the popular anime and manga series One Piece for the name of the track, referencing "Pirate Empress Boa Hancock," or the "Snake Princess." The character is described as beautiful, strong and able to turn people to stone with the use of her "Devil Fruit" powers. Megan has been an outspoken fan of anime and manga, having cosplayed several characters.

"BOA" is a fun third single that sparks even more excitement for the rapper's upcoming, untitled album. Consistently snappy and seductive, Megan continues to prove that she's one of the most exciting faces in hip-hop.
