Kendrick Lamar was highly praised for the quality of his lyricism during his rap feud with Drake. Among the diss tracks that he released, fans have claimed that "Not Like Us" might be his strongest one, as it is currently racing to become the No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

However, hip-hop fans were taken aback when they saw that some of the lyrics from the track were from now-resurfaced tweets on X, formerly Twitter.

Among the most notable similarities was the mention of Drake's OVO Records record label. In the song, Lamar rapped: "Let me hear you say, OV-HO, OV-HO, Say, OV-HO, OV-HO."

X user @Cammyiceee asked Lamar if he could get writing credits on "Not Like Us" because he wrote, "If she listens to Drake she an OVHoe" in March 2016.

Lamar's most hard-hitting bar in the song, where he accused Drake of being a pedophile, "Certified Lover boy, Certified Pedophile," was surprisingly drawn word-for-word from a tweet by user @mladyfootlocker in 2021. The user then called the rapper "Kendrick 'Plagiarism' Lamar."

To double down on accusing Drake of having a penchant for young women, Lamar playfully references Drizzy's pedophilic tendencies to a guitar chord. In the song, he rapped, "Tryna strike a chord and it's probably A-Minorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr." In 2021, user @backjoyski tweeted a similar thing that could have inspired Lamar's bar; he said, "Drake's favorite chord must be a minor."

The last similarity was drawn from a 2023 tweet by user @Iast_dayz, in which they wondered, "What if drake was called the 69 god." In the diss track, Lamar proclaims Drake as a 69 god, saying, "Devil is a lie, he a 69 God, aye."

Drake has since blasted Lamar for using social media to feed his lyricism. The "Passionfruit" rapper accused him of lifting angles on TikTok and Twitter on his latest diss track, "The Heart Part 6."

"This Epstein angle was the s**t I expected/TikTok videos you collected and dissectred/Instead of bein' on some diss-direct s**t/You rather f**king grab your pen and misdirect s**t," Drake rapped in the song." You been hatin' hard for a very long time/It feel like Twitter ghostwritin' your reply," Drizzy rapped.
