Justin and Hailey Bieber surprised everyone when they announced they were pregnant with their first child. The announcement came after months of intensified speculation that the couple is approaching divorce.
A source told People magazine that the couple had found a way to keep their pregnancy private, far away from the privileged eyes of the public.
"When they found out that Hailey was pregnant, it was just the best day for them. They have both been very emotional about it," the source revealed. "They feel so blessed. They've also felt very protective of the baby from the moment they found out."
According to the source, the couple disclosed the pregnancy with their family and close friends early upon discovering it.
"It was important for them to keep it quiet and just enjoy for as long as possible before they publicly confirmed though. They asked their friends to not share until they were ready to announce," the source added.
Through their Instagram posts, Hailey and Justin announced their pregnancy on May 9, 2024, revealing also that they have renewed their vows in Hawaii.

The couple's pregnancy announcement and renewal of vows put off the rumors and reports that they're heading toward a divorce.
"There's no divorce and no truth to that whatsoever," a People insider shared in April 2024. "They are very, very happy."
Hailey has since dismissed such reports with a statement in March 2024.
"Just FYI the stories and constant 'blind items' I see on TikTok are 100% of the time wrong Made out of thin air... Come from the land of delusion.... So I know it may be fun feeding into these stories but just know they're always false xx sorry to spoil it," she wrote on Instagram at the time.
The couple has since made public appearances in the past few months. Specifically, Hailey and Justin were present at Coachella 2024; the latter even performed on Tems' set.
Hailey, who was already pregnant at the time, wore a baggy leather jacket to conceal her already budging baby bump. On another day, she was spotted wearing a black zip-up hoodie and a black hair wrap, which effectively concealed her pregnancy at the time.
Notably, Justin and Hailey were absent at the 2024 Met Gala, held days before their pregnancy announcement.
